The Science, Made Simple
Elderberries contain anthocyanins and flavonoids — plant compounds studied for their role in normal immune system signaling. Research has shown that elderberry flavonoids may bind directly to influenza virions and block their ability to enter host cells. (Zakay-Rones et al., 2004, PMID: 15080016; Roschek et al., 2009, PMID: 19682714)
Nettle (Urtica dioica) has been valued by herbalists for centuries — not only as a mineral-rich whole food but for its natural antihistamine and anti-inflammatory activity. Studies show it may inhibit histamine H1 receptors, block mast cell degranulation, and suppress key pro-inflammatory enzymes including COX-1 and COX-2 — making it especially well suited for spring allergy support. Lemon balm adds a calming, balancing layer — particularly relevant during high-stress or high-allergen seasons.
Black peppercorn isn't just a spice. Its active compound piperine has been well-studied for its ability to enhance the bioavailability of other plant compounds consumed alongside it — meaning the herbs in this formula may be better absorbed because of it. (Shoba et al., 1998, PMID: 9619120)
Our Fire Cider Vinegar Infusion is an oxymel-inspired element — a nod to the centuries-old tradition of combining herbal-infused vinegar and honey for wellness support. Ours isn't a classic 1:1 oxymel ratio, but it functions with that same intention, woven throughout the larger formula to do several things at once:
Gut microbiome support — the polyphenols in apple cider vinegar may contribute to a healthier gut environment and microbiome balance
Enhanced absorption — the fermentation process can break down plant compounds into more bioavailable forms, potentially increasing the benefit of the herbal extracts in the formula
Natural preservation — extends shelf life to 6 to 12 months under proper refrigeration without artificial preservatives

What's Inside
Spring water, organic elderberries, organic raw honey, organic nettle, organic lemon balm, organic ginger, organic cinnamon chips, organic clove, organic black peppercorn, and a Fire Cider Vinegar Infusion (organic apple cider vinegar infused with organic ginger, rosemary, thyme, sage, black peppercorn, cinnamon, clove, and lemon peel).

How to Use
Adults: 1 tablespoon daily through fall and winter months. During periods of increased physical or lifestyle stress, up to 2 tablespoons daily. 1–2 teaspoons during off-season months. Reduce intake if fever is present.
Children ages 4 and up: ½ to 1 teaspoon daily. Do not exceed 2 teaspoons daily. Reduce if fever is present.
Storage
Refrigerate upon receiving. This syrup is formulated to keep 6 to 12 months under proper refrigeration, in part due to the natural preserving properties of the Fire Cider Vinegar Infusion. Always check for any visible mold before use — refrigerators vary in temperature consistency and while rare, mold can develop if storage conditions were compromised. When in doubt, trust your eyes. Discard if mold is present.

About This Formula
This syrup was developed by a Registered Dietitian with over 20 years of background in integrative and functional medicine, herbal medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, and nutrient biochemistry. But if we're being honest, it has roots in something older than any credential.
It started in the kitchen — learning nervine teas from immigrant family members, making bone broth, watching traditional fermented foods come to life. Long before the degrees and the training, there was a table where food was medicine and nobody had to convince anyone of that.
