Velvet Grey Tea – Properties & Benefits
Velvet Grey is crafted with a thoughtful balance of black tea, citrus oils, and whole vanilla bean—each contributing both flavor and functional support.
Black Tea (Ceylon + Assam)
Rich in polyphenols, particularly theaflavins and thearubigins, black tea supports:
Antioxidant activity and cellular protection
Cardiovascular health through improved endothelial function
Gentle cognitive support from natural caffeine + L-theanine
The combination of caffeine and L-theanine promotes a calm, focused energy, without the sharp spikes often associated with coffee.
Bergamot (Citrus bergamia)
Traditionally used in Earl Grey, bergamot contains bioactive compounds such as flavonoids and limonene, which may support:
Digestive function and bile flow
Mood regulation through interaction with the nervous system
Mild antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity
Its aromatic profile also engages the limbic system, contributing to a subtle uplifting effect.
Madagascar Vanilla Bean
Real vanilla contains compounds like vanillin, known for:
Antioxidant properties
Gentle calming effects on the nervous system
Enhancing sensory satisfaction and perceived sweetness without added sugar
Vanilla’s aroma has been studied for its ability to promote relaxation and emotional comfort.
Makes ~15 cups
*Please note: Black tea leaves are finer than other herbs, and therefore take up less volume within the bag. Potency remains robust even at 1 tsp.
